The Founder Story

Sol Mama began with a shared realization: pregnancy changes your body, your pace, your identity - but the clothes available rarely evolve with you.

We are two women, more friends than co-founders, who come from very different but deeply complementary worlds.

One of us grew up in a 30-year legacy of garment manufacturing, understanding not just how clothes look, but how they are constructed, how they move, and how they feel on the body. She later went on to work at a fast-scaling digital startup, shaping content and building products in an environment where consumer understanding is everything.

The other is a trained architect with 15 years of brand marketing and PR experience. More importantly, she comes with personal lived experience - navigating careers, pregnancy and early motherhood firsthand, while raising her three-year-old. She knows what support actually looks like, and how it can all quietly fall into place.

Together, we are the Yin and Yang of the business, building a brand that is much needed.

Simply put, we are two women co-founders trying to make life phases easy for other women. Because we get you!

Product Design & Philosophy

At Sol Mama, design begins with the body and stays with it as it changes.

Every piece is created to support pregnancy, nursing, and life beyond postpartum, without compromising on comfort, movement, or aesthetics. Our focus is not on trends, but on how a garment feels, functions, and lives with you.

1. Designed for every stage

Our silhouettes are made to adapt from early pregnancy through later stages and into postpartum. Adjustable details, flexible fits, and thoughtful construction allow each piece to grow with you.

2. Beyond maternity

Sol Mama is not “maternity-only.”

Our pieces are designed so you’ll want to keep wearing them long after pregnancy, because good design doesn’t have a timeline.

3. Bump-friendly and nursing-friendly designs

Function is seamlessly built into every piece. Whether it’s room to grow or ease of access, comfort never comes at the cost of aesthetics.

4. Designs, Fabrics, & Comfort

  • Our silhouettes are designed to drape, not cling, and to flatter different body types at different stages. Function is built into the design, quietly and seamlessly, allowing room to grow and ease of movement without compromising on aesthetics.
  • We have been very picky about our fabrics.  Our high-quality fabrics are chosen to stretch, breathe, and recover as your body changes, without losing structure or shape.
  • Every piece is meant to be lived in. Sitting, walking, resting, travelling, showing up. Comfort is non-negotiable.

We design intentionally, produce responsibly, and focus on quality over quantity. Fewer pieces, made better, meant to last.

Our garments are made with care, in environments that respect the people behind the product. Fair processes matter as much as the final piece.

3. Safety of dyes and processes

We are mindful about the materials, dyes, and processes we use, especially because our clothes are worn close to the body during a sensitive phase of life.

4. Longevity over fast fashion

Sol Mama does not chase trends. We believe in timeless silhouettes and enduring quality, so our pieces remain relevant season after season.

5. Made in India

We are proud to be manufacturing, processing and producing in India. All our products and all its components are made in India.
