Dear Diary,
Motherhood Called. Nobody Warned Me.
Nobody warned me that motherhood would be so many things at once.
That I could feel completely in love and completely overwhelmed in the same hour.
That I would spend months preparing for a baby, but very little time preparing for the woman I was about to become.
Everyone told me about the sleepless nights.
The diapers.
The feeding schedules.
The hospital bag.
The baby essentials.
Nobody told me that one day I'd open my wardrobe and not recognise it—or myself.
Suddenly, clothes became questions.
Can I feed in this?
Will it fit next month?
Will I be comfortable enough to wear it all day?
Can I bend, lift, cuddle, and survive another coffee spill?
And somewhere between practicality and exhaustion, I stopped asking an important question:
Do I still feel like me?
Motherhood changed my body. It changed my routines. It changed the way I moved through the world.
But it didn't change my desire to feel good when I got dressed.
Some days, wearing something soft, beautiful, and thoughtfully designed feels like a small thing.
Until you realise it can change the entire day.
A little more comfort.
A little more confidence.
A little reminder that while you've become someone's mother, you're still yourself too.
Maybe that's what nobody warned me about.
Motherhood isn't just about welcoming a baby.
It's about meeting a new version of yourself.
And she's still figuring things out.
One outfit, one feeding session, one day at a time.
Why Sol Mama mattered:
Pieces that made my today easier:
• A nursing-friendly dress that didn't look like nursing wear
• Soft fabrics that moved with me, not against me
• Thoughtful feeding access hidden in plain sight
Because motherhood is hard enough.
Getting dressed shouldn't be.
